Things horses taught me.

  1. You don’t need anyone else. Just you and a lot of faith.
  2. Haters gonna hate. Be yourself.
  3. Confidence is everything.
  4. Never look down.
  5. Don’t worry about what people might think of you.
  6. Violence or anger is never the solution.
  7. Real princesses do not kiss toads.
  8. Don’t judge a book by its cover.
  9. Carrots are good. And so are apples.
  10. There isn’t a thing that a nice canter can’t cure.

I read a post on someone’s tumblr from some vegan chick that thinks that “us Equestrians” are being cruel and heartless because we force the horses to work with us for our selfish Benefit… so I just wanted to say something about it.

Dear  ”vegan chick”,
I disagree, we are not cruel or heartless when riding. We take the time to build a bond with these horses and we treat them better than we treat most humans. I will never force a horse to do something against his or her will. I love my horse, I would die for him. You are so concerned that we are are hurting our horses, but the truth is they don’t mind. I know my horse knickers when he see’s me and actually likes riding more than anything. I take the chance to ride bareback as much as I can. And I never work him too much. I do show and I do jump and such but not excessively and I take it at the horses pace and to his ability… some horses like being ridden, If they did not want us riding they would throw us off. I fight against animal abuse everyday. I hate people who use crops and whips excessively and use cruel forms of training. I Hate people who use horses strictly for sport and spend no time connecting with them.
you think us riding our horses is so cruel and you waist your time fighting against us riding. Why don’t you fight for the horses in a more useful way, like fight against those who beet and starve their horses, or keep them locked in a 9x9 stall 24/7. Oh or how about joining us horse loving equestrians in the fight against horse slaughter, you do know that the president signed papers saying that he will make horse slaughter Legal in the USA for HUMAN consumption. So if you want to waist your time fighting against those of use how take care of our animals and ride them instead of fighting for what is really cruel, you make me sick, you are the ones who are wrong.
Sincerly,

“us equestrians”
